Casey James and Crystal Bowersox who?!?

With a performance of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work,” Michael Lynche established himself as the new American Idol favorite last night.

Showing incredible range, from an amazing falsetto to an impressive baritone, the man known as Big Mike brought Kara DioGuardi to tears. A lot of tears. She could barely get her words of praise out as she choked up. It was actually a very sweet moment.

Below, we’ve ranked the eight performances from last night. Lynche aside, who was your favorite?

1. Michael Lynche: So this is what happens when your wife is in the audience, huh?
2. Casey James: Not his best performance, and we agree the Keith Urban song was a safe choice… but who else deserves this spot?
3. Alex Lambert: You can stop with the banana references now, Ellen. Solid rendition of a Ray LaMontagne classic proves Lambert is simply a great singer.
4. Andrew Garcia: The judges have forced him to get as creative as possible each week, taking his focus off actual singing, it seems. Can we all just forget about his “Straight Up” arrangement at this point?
5. Todrick Hall: Points of taking a risk. But “Somebody to Love” almost belongs to the Glee cast at this point. We just think of them when we hear it.
6. Aaron Kelly: Solid version of “I’m Already There.” We’re glad Simon shut Kara up about taking the song so literally and making it seem like a young crooner couldn’t take it on.
7. Lee DeWyze: He’ll likely stick around, but our least favorite performance from this rocker.
8. Tim Urban: Were we listening to a different version of “Hallelujah?” We didn’t buy him at all singing this classic.

Heidi Montag and her husband are parting ways. Business-wise.

Having been managed by Spencer Pratt since she was 19 (five years ago), Heidi is replacing her pimp with Malibu-based psychic named Aiden Chase. Seriously.

“After the incredible experiences I have had healing my life and truly connecting to my dreams with healer intuitive Aiden Chase, I have officially asked him to become my manager,” Montag says, apparently without sarcasm.

“An intuitive psychic leading my team gives me an edge no one else has.”

SEEKING NEW PIMP: Spencer Pratt just got fired by Heidi.

“No longer is my husband the face of my business or managing my career,” she adds. “I am going to have Aiden Chase help manage my new life and career in a very different and positive way with light and love. The time for change is now.”

“Never mix business and pleasure. We are no longer Speidi but Spencer and Heidi. I am so excited for my future and the bright successes coming my way.”

Don’t hold your breath.

Heidi said she made the move to “clear out the negative energy” around her. Call us crazy, but Spencer was the one trying to stop the plastic surgery binge.

Despite severing business ties, the gruesome twosome will stay married. Phew. Don’t know if we could handled life without these gratuitous photo shoots.

We love Adam Lambert and we admire the enthusiasm and loyalty of his fans.

But we got into a bit of a stand-off with them last month when THG ran a story that said Lambert “ripped” Susan Boyle, referring to her her album as “terrible” and her rendition of “Wild Horses” as laughable.

Supporters of this singer jumped down our throat for misquoting the superstar, claiming we were going after Google hits (via our harsh word choice) instead of the truth. This critique prompted us to pen an editorial in which we told Adam fans to “chill out.”

Since then, we’ve made up… right, Lambert lovers? But we still feel the need to defend our professional integrity and state: we did not misquote Adam. In a new interview with The Herald Sun, he was asked about his comment and said:

“It came across a bit harsher than how it actually went down. But I’m not a fan of the record, it wasn’t a lie.”

Let’s all move on now. Adam has. He talked about the perception of American Idol in the same interview:

“[People think] you come off the show and all of a sudden you are put in this machine and puppeted into this product. That’s not my experience at all.

“I’m a pretty outspoken, upfront, forward type of person, and I have opinions about what I want to be as an artist. I told them I want to be glam, be pop, be rock, I want to be everything, blend it all together and have a great time doing it. Be theatrical and be out there.”

That’s certainly who Lambert is – and we adore him for remaining true to himself.

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart, who welcomed their first child last week, spent a bit of time getting to know their daughter before revealing her name.

Now they picked one: Billie Beatrice Dane. Cute!

Following a Facebook campaign that resulted in over 350,000 signatures, fans have gotten their wish: the former Golden Girls star will host NBC’s Saturday Night Live on May 8.

But the 88-year old won’t take to the stage alone. In honor of Mother’s Day, the edition will reunite six former female cast members as co-hosts: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.

The Facebook campaign kicked off after White appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for Snickers, which SNL creator Lorne Michaels said “took on a groundswell.

“[White as the host] isn’t something we would have said no to, [but the campaign] validated that… It was the outpouring of affection from fans, and we feel the same way.”

Simply put, “she’s the mother of us all in comedy,” Michaels said.

FlashForward star Joseph Fiennes and his wife, Swiss model Maria Dolores Dieguez, welcomed their first child, a daughter born on Monday, his rep confirms.

The brother of Ralph, perhaps best known for starring in Shakespeare in Love, married the former Miss Switzerland contestant just last summer in Tuscany.

They sure didn’t waste any time after that! You’d think the world were going to end on April 29, 2010 or something. Sorry, we really need to sleep more.

Extra host and former Saved By the Bell legend Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza, an actress, are apparently dating. They are also expecting a child this fall!

“I’m really excited. I’m happy. I can’t wait to be a dad,” Mario said.

“I grew up in a large family,” he shared. “I’m fired up! I don’t know what we’re having. I’m going to wait to see [the baby's gender] so it will be a surprise.”

Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza met in 2008 when he starred on Broadway in A Chorus Line and have quietly dated since. This will be the first child for both.

Chris Brown really wants to stay relevant.

That much is obvious, but the fact that he’s literally begging his fans to help that cause is pretty funny/sad. Brown used an audio message to spread the desperate plea.

Brown’s message is available through SayNow.com, a website in which stars can record messages for fans … of which he apparently has fewer die-hards than the old days.

In the message, the felony woman beater begs fans to help “bring me back,” saying that he won’t name names, but “a lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records.”

“They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to.”

A studious Chris Brown hopes for radio redemption.

Brown goes on to say he’s “a better guy now” … but says “[My music] won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio … I can’t be an underground mix tape artist.”

Chris’ popularity has understandably taken a beating ever since he doled out a severe one to then-girlfriend Rihanna a year ago. Not the best move, image-wise.

His new album, Graffiti, is somewhat of a sales letdown.

We believe in second chances, sure, but calling out stores and stations for blackballing your album (true or not) isn’t the way to go, Chris. It just makes you look petty.
